Seared Ahi Tuna Bowls

This is an incredible recipe and easy! I LOVE seared ahi tuna not only because it tastes so good but also because it is a fantastic source of protein!

Here’s how I make mine:

Tuna
2 ahi tuna filets (6-8 oz each)
Toasted sesame seeds
Black sesame seeds
Salt and pepper
Avocado oil

Dredge the Ahi tuna fillets in a mixture of white and black sesame seeds. Season well with salt and pepper to your liking.
Heat up a cast iron pan or heavy stainless pan and add about 1 T avocado oil. Sear your filets for about 1 to 2 minutes per side, searing the sides if the fish if you wish. I prefer mine rare in the middle, so cook longer if you like your tuna more done.

For the sauce:
In a bowl, combine
1/2 - 3/4 cup chopped cilantro
3 green onions sliced thin
1 tablespoon ginger, grated
One clove, garlic, pressed
1/3 cup +2 tablespoons tamari or coconut aminos
1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
1 tablespoon honey
1.5 teaspoons fish sauce
1/2 cup water

Put everything in a bowl and stir to combine.

When the filets are done cooking, slice into pieces. Serve over rice, edamame, sliced carrots, slaw, avocado slices, jalapeños, and anything else you enjoy!
Drizzle with the sauce.🎉

You’ll hope there are leftovers!
